I was so skeptical of yoga when I went to my first class at Yoga in ME nearly two years ago. I’d never done it before, and I was out of shape, and not at all convinced I would like it. I was sure I would look ridiculous among all the skinny and muscular marathoners I expected to see there. I couldn’t have been more wrong!

Lydia and Nancy were so welcoming and understanding about my hesitations, especially when, as a beginner, I had no idea if I was doing anything right or not. They reassured me right from the beginning, and simply told me their motto, “If you are breathing, you are doing it right.” In just a few months of attending Boomer Yoga, I was hooked. They are so accepting of all ages, ability levels, and body shapes. I always try to go to as many classes as I can now, since feel so limbered up and energized for the day. Not only are they both so encouraging, but they both have a great sense of humor. I think anyone would feel so comfortable in classes they teach, especially beginners.

Thank you to both Nancy and Lydia for transforming my outlook on life!

Lydia has been practicing yoga since 2006. Initially she began her practice for the physical experience. After the birth of her first child, she began to enjoy yoga for the spiritual and emotional benefits that it brings to her life. Lydia enjoys a dynamic, physical practice but loves to center her practice and her classes around the breath. She brings her lighthearted sense of humor to her teaching, reminding herself and her students not to take yoga too seriously! She is passionate about “real food” cooking, green living, and spending time with her daughters: Lilliana, Zinnia, and Sabriel.
