Full Moon Yin and Meditation with Karen Joy

Join us on the full moon, Friday, November 23 from 6-8pm.
Luxuriate in a Yin Yoga flow specifically tailored to stimulate the spleen and stomach meridian pair. Then be gently guided into a seated meditation that will create awareness and space for quiet and stillness.
Yang in nature, full moons are active & high energy and are likened to the peak of an inhale. Yin qualities are in comparison more passive, low energy, and likened to the base of the exhale.
During this mentally active and fiery full moon, there is no better way to balance your body, mind and emotions than a yin yoga class with meditation, because of their balancing yin nature.
Yin Yoga is a quiet and still practice. Postures are held for several minutes, with relaxed muscles to stimulate the connective tissue of the body, bringing hydration, circulation and physical and emotional energetic release through the meridian lines.
As yoga is traditionally a way to prepare the body for seated meditation, these two practices are a perfect pair. Learn to listen to your body & intuition and take best care of yourself possible.
All are welcome, even those new to yoga.
About the Instructor
Karen Joy in a deeply caring and passionate soul. She has been practicing yoga and meditation for over 18 years and teaching for over 12 years. She earned a 200 hr RYT and has practiced and trained intensively both Yin and Ashtanga yoga, as well as Insight Meditation. Karen previously taught at Back Bay Yoga in Boston and then Yoga East in Kittery. Since 2015, after her daughter was born, she has been teaching independently at various locations and at her home studio in York Maine. Karen seeks to help students reunite with their innate wisdom and to learn to take the best care of themselves possible with the incredible healing power of yoga, meditation and essential oils.
