What’s SUP?

July 31 @ 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm

Stand Up Paddleboard Yoga

Slow down your practice to the pace of the earth and the Salmon Falls river.

All levels of students are welcome and can perform simple poses and practice their balance and awareness.

We will be launching our boards from the boat launch at the William Bray Memorial Park on Route 101 in South Berwick, Maine about an hour from high tide. We will gain our confidence and balance with a short paddle under the 101 bridge past the salt marshes, Cow Cove and anchor near the Vaughan Woods State Park with the 1785 Georgian mansion, the Hamilton House, in the distance. Along the way we may see great blue herons, osprey, cormorants, kingfishers or bald eagles. After anchoring our boards we will practice yoga (and not taking ourselves seriously) until ebb tide and rest. In rest we will experience the tide turning as our boards reverse and move with the flow of the river. We will paddle back with the current back to the boat launch to take some photos and light refreshments.

At ebb tide I wrote a line upon the sand
And gave it all my heart and soul
At flood tide I returned to read what I had inscribed
And found my ignorance upon the shore
