We’ll begin this special workshop by getting close up with some of the resident turtles from Center for Wildlife (CFW). We’ll learn more about the turtles and CFW’s amazing work to build a sustainable future for wildlife in our community.
After the presentation, we’ll slide our minds into the calm, still pond of relaxation with some yoga. The turtles will remind us to breathe, stay calm and comfortable in your own shell while we do postures. And they will be allowed to join us for meditation, breathwork and rest!
Plan to stay after is you’d like to take pictures with the turtles.
This class will be appropriate for most levels. It takes the place of the usual 9:30am Morning Flow. (8:00am Present Power class will take place as usual)
By donation. Proceeds will go directly to Center for Wildlife.
Any amount is appreciated. Suggested donation is $20.
Instructor: Sue Mickey is a proud graduate of The Hard & The Soft 200-hour Yoga teacher training founded by Beryl Bender Birch and she started teaching in 2017. She is also trained in Yoga for 12-step recovery, Mindful Yoga Therapy, and Boomer Yoga. She is a retired high school Biology teacher. Sue loves watching others achieve their goals and follow their passions. This has always been the best part of her work. Off the mat, Sue loves travel, nature and engaging her inner child. The turtle has always been her spirit animal, reminding her to slow down and go with the flow of nature. Let’s say this is still a work in progress.
“In the end we will conserve only what we love; we will love only what we understand; and we will understand only what we are taught.”
